How do I Convert Bookmarks to Favorites on IE for Macintosh?
When you download Internet Explorer 4.5 for Macintosh, a new browser is created on your machine. Your bookmarks from Netscape are not automatically converted--you must manually add them to Internet Explorer's Favorites. To do this, perform the following steps:
Find your Netscape bookmarks file.
Typically, this file is located in your Hard Disk>System Folder>Preferences>Netscape Users>YourName folder. If you do not find a file called bookmarks.html in this location, use the Find feature of your Macintosh desktop (FILE>FIND) to search for any files called bookmarks.html.
Create a backup copy of each bookmarks.html file you find
Put this backup copy elsewhere on your hard disk, or on a floppy disk. You can use the backup file if anything goes wrong while you are converting to Internet Explorer
Open Internet Explorer.
On the FAVORITES menu, choose ORGANIZE FAVORITES
On the FILE menu, choose IMPORT and navigate to the bookmarks.html file you located above. Then click OK.
You will now find a folder on your favorite list called "bookmarks.html" that contains your Netscape bookmarks. You can organize this any way you want. Back
