How do I Use Bookmarks and Favorites in Internet Explorer 5.x for Mac?
About Bookmarks/Favorites
When setting a "favorite" (called bookmarks in Netscape) Web site, you can return to it at a later time by selecting it from a list of bookmarks or favorites. This way, you can access a Web site quickly and easily without having to search for a Web site or enter its URL.
Adding Bookmarks/Favorites
Open INTERNET EXPLORER and go to the page you want to add to Favorites
Choose ADD PAGE TO FAVORITES from the FAVORITES menu
The current page is now added to your favorites
Deleting/Editing bookmarks/Favorites
Open INTERNET EXPLORER and select ORGANIZE FAVORITES from the FAVORITES menu. A file selection box prompts you to choose a Favorite to edit.
Select the FAVORITE or FAVORITES folder that you want to delete
Press the DELETE key. A confirmation box will appear (see above). Click OK to confirm the deletion.
Importing Bookmarks/Favorites We recommend backing up your bookmarks before you import them. To do so:
Click the HARD DISK icon and open SYSTEM FOLDER. Locate the PREFERENCES folder, and choose the NETSCAPE USERS folder. Open the folder named after your Netscape Preferences name, and locate your Netscape bookmarks file, labeled "bookmarks.html". If are unable to find the bookmarks file in this location, use the find feature on your Macintosh desktop (choose FIND from the FILE menu) to search for any files called bookmarks.html.
Create a backup copy of each bookmarks.html file you find. Save this backup copy elsewhere on your hard disk or on a floppy disk. You can use the backup file if anything goes wrong while you are converting bookmarks to Internet Explorer.
To import bookmarks/favorites:
Open INTERNET EXPLORER, and select ORGANIZE FAVORITES from the FAVORITES menu.
On the FILE menu, choose IMPORT and navigate to the bookmarks.html file you located in the previous steps. Click OK.
You will now find a folder on your Favorite list called "bookmarks.html" that contains your Netscape bookmarks. You can organize this file in any way you want.
Reorganizing Favorites
Open INTERNET EXPLORER, and select ORGANIZE FAVORITES from the FAVORITES menu. A file selection box prompts you to choose a FAVORITE to edit.
Click the FAVORITE or FAVORITES folder that you want to reorganize
Drag and drop the folder or folders to the desired locations
